NONI
Noni
(Morinda citrifolia) is a fruit-bearing plant native to the
South Pacific that has been used as a traditional medicine – as an
antibacterial/antifungal/antiviral, anti-inflammatory, for high blood
pressure, cancer and immune enhancement – for over 2000 years1.
Most research has
centered on a set of chemicals found in Noni – known as glycosides
–which are believed to be responsible for its therapeutic effects2.
While there are no
controlled clinical studies, Noni has been shown to have a positive
effect on cancer and tumor growth both in cells and animals3-12.
Other studies have validated the traditional use for possible relief of
pain (analgesia) and stress13-14.
